Noble, the reigning national masters’ champion, started swimming competitively at the tender age of six. He switched to running at age 15 and three years later was British Columbia’s high school 3,000-metre champion running in a time of 8:46. He started modern pentathlon in 1976 after seeing the event at the Summer Olympics in Montreal, where he carried the Olympic Flame. He competed on the national junior and senior teams for several years in the late 1970s and early `80s. Noble is on the CAMPA executive as the high performance director and is currently a full-time critical care transport paramedic with the infant transport team working out of the BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre.
