2017 Canadian Pentathlon Championships
Pentathlon Alberta is excited to announce that the 2017 Canadian Pentathlon Championships will be held July 7th, 8th and 9th in Calgary, Alberta.
The province of Alberta is home to a thriving Modern Pentathlon community with three pentathlon clubs and over 50 pentathletes. The city of Calgary itself is home to many world-class sporting events, including their very own Calgary Stampede. Located less than an hour from the Rocky Mountains, Calgary provides exceptional sports facilities and unmatched hospitality with a backdrop that will take your breath away, making it an ideal location to host this year’s championships.
Schedule of Events*
Friday July 7th: Test ride and technical meeting
Saturday July 8th: Fencing, swimming, equestrian, combined event and banquet
Sunday July 9th: Relay

Pentathlon Event Venues
- Fencing and Swimming will take place at Mount Royal University (MRU)
- Riding (including the test ride) and the combined event will take place at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping (RMSJ)
MRU
MRU is a distinguished University located in the south west of Calgary. It offers a fully-equipped recreational facility that is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all of users. The recreational areas of the campus provide first-rate amenities for a wide variety of athletes and sports. The facility offers a 25-meter pool.
RMSJ
Next to Spruce Meadows, RMSJ hosts the most prestigious equestrian competitions in the province. They host over 20 competitions each season including both show jumping and dressage. The facility offers magnificent views of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and nearby foothills and is a short drive from the MRU campus. The Owner and Operator of RMSJ, John Anderson, was a member of the Canadian Olympic Show Jumping team and continuously represents Canada in international competitions.
